The President of the National Authority for Electricity Regulation (ANRE) took part in the High Level Public-Private Dialogue on investment in the development of electricity and infrastructure in Africa, on March 28, 2023 in Addis Abeba, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and RES4AFRICA. This dialogue saw the participation of representatives of the public and private sector of the African continent with a view to initiating discussions on the reforms essential to the development of the electricity sector in Africa and to the attraction of private investment in this sector. This initiative is part of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which aims to develop key infrastructure and ensure access to energy to stimulate the socio-economic transformation of the continent. The President of ANRE, Mr. Abdellatif Bardach, greatly contributed to the high-level political forum session by highlighting the remarkable achievements of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the High directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Assists, in the field of energy and the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to promote investment and cooperation in renewable energy in Africa. In addition, he underlined the importance of ANRE’s mission, which is mainly to guarantee a clear and transparent regulatory framework for the implementation of the national energy policy, as well as to guarantee equity in the electricity sector. ensuring the promotion of a favorable environment for private investment. Furthermore, thanks to his positions as President of the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG) and Vice-President of RegulaE.Fr, Mr. Abdellatif Bardach shared his experience of working in close collaboration with Mediterranean and African regulators to promote the development of a regional energy market. This collaboration aims to encourage investment in infrastructure and promote cross-border electricity trade in accordance with the tireless efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God Glorify him.
