In accordance with the provisions of Article 53 of Law N°. 48- on the regulation of the electricity sector and the creation of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority, as amended and supplemented, ANRE has the mission to approve the accounting unbundling of the activities of the ONEE. In this context, the Council of the ANRE, held on February 19th, 2025, took a decision approving the accounting unbundling of the activities of the ONEE.
This decision is a result of a long process of joint cooperation between ANRE and ONEE, with the aim of completing this strategic project, which constitutes a key pillar for regulating the electricity sector in Morocco.
Aware of the challenges of this reform, ANRE will establish monitoring and follow-up mechanisms to ensure the effective implementation of this accounting chapter.
This strategic achievement is a crucial step towards a competitive and efficient electricity market.
