The National Electricity Regulatory Authority sets the tariff for the surplus of electrical energy for the regulatory period from March 1st, 2026 to February 28th, 2027.
As part of the implementation of the HIGH GUIDELINES OF HIS MAJESTY KING MOHAMMED VI, MAY GOD ASSIST HIM, aimed at encouraging a sustainable energy transition, the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) sets the tariff for the surplus of electrical energy that may be sold by producers under Law No. 13-09 on renewable energies, and Law No. 82-21 on self-production of electrical energy to the relevant national electricity grid operators, for an initial regulatory period from March 1st, 2026 to February 28, 2027.
The tariff is thus set at 21 centimes per kilowatt-hour during peak hours and 18 centimes per kilowatt-hour during off-peak hours.
For this initial regulatory period, ANRE has adopted the principle of a single tariff, differentiated by time-of-use period, for the purchase of the surplus of electrical energy, applicable to all production facilities. The tariff set applies to the high and very high voltage networks as well as to medium voltage distribution networks. The tariff applicable to the low voltage network will be set by ANRE after the appropriate regulatory and technical framework has been put in place.
The publication of the tariff for the surplus of electrical energy is a new milestone in the development of an evolving tariff framework, which aims to support the gradual and harmonious development of the national electricity sector.
