Rabat, 24th April 2024 – The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) received a delegation of Turkish businessmen at ANRE headquarters, led by His Excellency the Turkish Ambassador to Morocco, Mustafa Ilker Kiliç. The meeting highlighted the fruitful collaboration and strategic partnership between Morocco and Turkey in the energy sector.
During the meeting, the Turkish delegation underlined the crucial importance of electricity and its profound impact on various economic sectors, including decarbonization initiatives, green hydrogen and desalination projects, which are at the heart of both countries’ energy strategy.
ANRE’s President, Mr. Abdellatif Bardach, explained the Authority’s essential role in supporting the national energy strategy, initiated under the impetus of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, to put in place a robust regulatory framework and create an attractive environment for investors. By anticipating the regulation of emerging technologies in the sector, ANRE aims to establish a climate of confidence for investors and position the kingdom as a global leader in energy transition.
The meeting not only consolidated the foundations of an already fruitful collaboration, but also paved the way for significant advances in the future.
