ANRE chairs MEDREG Association - December 2022
Mr. Abdellatif Bardach, President of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE), was elected on 1st December 2022, in Cairo, President of the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG), for the next two years, and this during the 34th General Assembly of MEDREG.

2021

Approval and Publication of the First ever National Grid Code - December 2021
ANRE’s Board unanimously approved the Grid Code (CRENT) during its sixth session in Rabat on 20th December 2021. CRENT, in compliance with Law No. 48-15, became effective on the 3rd January 2022.

Entry into force of Law No. 48-15 - April 2021
According to Article 56 of Law No. 48-15 on the regulation of the electricity sector and the establishment of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE), this same law takes effect six months from the date of the effective functioning of ANRE's bodies.

2020

First Board Meeting of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority - October 2020
The Board of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) held its first meeting on the 21st October 2020, under the chairmanship of Mr. Abdellatif BARDACH, and in the presence of all Board members. During this meeting, a set of documents and decisions, including ANRE's strategic roadmap for 2021-2025, were examined and approved.

Designation of ANRE’s Board members - August 2020
After the promulgation of Law No. 48-15, ANRE’s board members were designated to carry out the authority's missions. In September 2020, the first ANRE’s Board meeting was held, marking a significant milestone in its functioning.

Appointment of the President of the Dispute Settlement Committee - October 2018
The Dispute Settlement Committee (CRD) is composed of three designated members, with a magistrate appointed by the Supreme Judicial Council serving as its president.

Appointment of the President of ANRE by His Majesty the King, May God Assist Him - August 2023
The President of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) was appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, in a Council of Ministers meeting held on the 20th of August 2018.

2016

Establishment of ANRE by Law No. 48-15 - May 2016
Law 48-15 on "the regulation of the electricity sector and the creation of the national electricity regulatory authority" defines the missions and obligations of the TSO and DSOs, establishes ANRE, and grants it the powers and modalities to exercise its missions of regulating the national electricity sector.
