The first board meeting of ANRE under the chairmanship of Mr. Abdellatif BARDACH.

The board of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) held its first meeting, under the chairmanship of Mr. Abdellatif BARDACH, on October 21, 2020, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Authority’s headquarters in Rabat, in the presence of all board members, for the examination and approval of a set of documents and decisions, including the ANRE’s 2021-2025 strategic roadmap. The Chairman of the Board started the meeting by welcoming the members of the Board and by reaffirming that the Kingdom of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify and Assist Him, has resolutely embarked on a process of gradual reorganization, modernization and liberalization of the electricity sector. Regarding the first ANRE board meeting, Mr. Abdellatif BARDACH recalled that the institution of this authority comes to accompany the said process to support the economic and social development of the Kingdom and to meet its growing electricity needs in a sustainable manner. In this regard, the Kingdom has established an independent regulator with the appropriate skills and resources to enable it to exercise its sovereign functions. In this context, Mr. Abdellatif BARDACH stressed the determination of ANRE to deploy all its efforts in order to support and accompany the modernization of the electricity sector send a strong signal to local and international investors interested in the opportunities offered by this sector. Mr. Abdellatif BARDACH took this opportunity to give an exhaustive presentation of ANRE, including its missions, the functions of its governing bodies, the main projects and activities carried out by the authority and the main components of its action plan. The Board subsequently approved a number of ANRE’s management repositories as outlined in the agenda. The President of ANRE closed the session by expressing good testimony of the fidelity and loyalty to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify and assist Him, on the occasion of his first board meeting.
