ANRE receives a belgian delegation led by the CEO of the association Agoria

RABAT – The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) received, Tuesday in Rabat, a Belgian delegation led by the CEO of the Belgian Association AGORIA, Bart Steukers, and composed of representatives of some affiliated companies to this Association.

During this meeting, the Belgian delegation argued that its visit to Morocco is explained by the significant potential of the Moroccan economy, which opens up promising prospects for strengthening economic relations between the two countries. In particular, she underlined the attraction that Morocco has for the development of renewable energies.
For his part, Mr. Abdellatif Bardach, President of ANRE, after having presented the National Electricity Regulatory Authority and the main missions for which it is responsible, insisted on the importance of the ambitious project of the transition energy led by our country, under the impetus of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him. In this regard, he highlighted the crucial role played by the national and international private sector in developing the free market for the production and marketing of green electrical energy, including to foreign countries.
Mr Bardach informed the Belgian delegation of the work that is being done by ANRE, in close consultation with public and private operators, to put in place, as soon as possible, the tools that will make it possible to to exercise effective regulation of the electricity sector in Morocco and which should meet the requirements of visibility, stability and non-discriminatory treatment of investors. He mentioned, on this subject, the projects of the Network Code, the accounting separation of the transport activity and the other activities of the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water, the Code of good conduct, pricing, quality indicators, etc.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the energy field.
