Rabat, the 22 of November 2023 - The President of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE), Mr. Abdellatif Bardach, was appointed head of the French-speaking Network of Energy Regulators (RegulaE.Fr), at the outcome of its General Assembly which was held this Wednesday, the 22 of November in Rabat.
Rabat, November 21, 2023 - The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) is hosting the Workshop and General Assembly of the French-speaking Network of Energy Regulators on November 21 and 22, 2023 in Rabat (RegulaE.Fr), in partnership with the European Commission. The first day of this international event saw the participation of 160 personalities from 21 countries, headed by the presidents of the regulatory authorities of the African countries members of the Network. Also senior officials from the energy ecosystem in Morocco took part to the event, notably from the Ministry of Energy, Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (MTEDD), the Ministry of the Interior, Moroccan Agency for Renewable Energy (MASEN), the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) or the President of the federation of Energy.
The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) received, on the 19th of October 2023, at the ANRE headquarters in Rabat, a distinguished delegation from the Ministry of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) of the United Kingdom. The delegation included Marc Sherrat, Deputy Director of Renewable Electricity, and Adam Chamberlain, Head of Diplomatic Policy, Security, and Regulation of DESNZ, accompanied by Tom Hill, Country Director and Consul General of the United Kingdom in Casablanca.
The Council of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) held an extraordinary meeting on September 18th, 2023, at the institution's headquarters in Rabat, following the earthquake which struck certain areas of our country and , in particular, the Haouz’s region, on September 8th, causing enormous human and material damage, including to infrastructure, public buildings and homes.
For four days, from July 11 to 14, 2023, participants discussed a topic where Morocco is the continental vanguard: "off-grid electrification and the role of the regulator".
