ANRE Showcases Morocco's Energy Leadership at the Powering Africa Summit in Washington

Washington DC, 6th March 2024 - The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) participated in the 9th edition of the Powering Africa Summit, held on 5th and 6th of March 2024 in Washington DC, United States. Bringing together key stakeholders, policymakers, and industry leaders from North America and Africa, this event highlighted advancements and opportunities within the African energy sector.

On the 6th March 2024, he participated in an exclusive roundtable discussion with energy regulators’ Presidents and representatives from the United States, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cape Verde, and others. This high-level meeting provided a platform to exchange insights on critical topics such as establishing cost-reflective tariffs and fostering regulatory environments conducive to renewable energies.

in his capacity as the President of the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG) and President of the Francophone Energy Regulators Network RegulaE.Fr, Mr. Abdellatif Bardach brought to light his extensive experience in collaborating closely with regulators across the Mediterranean and Africa. This collaborative endeavor is geared towards fostering the development of a regional energy market, with the primary goal of stimulating investment in infrastructure and facilitating increased cross-border electricity trade.
